Guerrilla Marketing Ideas for the Coast Guard Auxiliary – Pt 2

Here are some simple low cost Guerrilla Marketing ideas to get everyone in your Flotilla involved in marketing the Coast Guard Auxiliary. We need to get everyone in the Auxiliary involved in Marketing. Public Affairs and Marketing the Auxiliary should be something that everyone in the Auxiliary helps with. We have for far too long looked on Marketing as only for our PA people.

I presented these Guerrilla Marketing ideas at GNATS (Great Northern Area Training Session) this spring and they were well received, the PowerPoint presentation is below, it takes about 10 minutes to present. I had a very long talk with the District Captain Richard Coons at GNATS and he fully endorses these ideas to help spread the word about the CG Auxiliary and what we do, and he would like to see them adopted District Wide.

We have been using many of these simple ideas in my Flotilla to build the Coast Guard Auxiliary Brand with the intent that when someone thinks “Boating Safety” or any other derivation that they think first of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

We need to get everyone in the Auxiliary involved in Marketing and Public Affairs to Market the Auxiliary. We have for far too long looked on Marketing as only for our PA people. We have been working to get EVERYONE in out Flotilla involved.

THESE LABELS REALLY WORK!!! The auxseattle.com and auxnorthwest.com URL / web address are simple enough to write them on most anything with a felt pen or what ever if you just meet someone that needs more information. Both URL’s have been approved for use in District 13, and will take you to the new District web site.

The District 13 web site has been completely redone and it is now very easy to use. Individual Flotillas can enter their own Public Education Classes, no need to wait for someone else, you are now the master of your own destiny.

Please give the labels a try. The cost is very low and they do work. Every year the Auxiliary hands out 1,000’s of pieces of literature and tell many more people to take a safe boating class but we don’t usually make it easy for them to find our classes. The goal is to never have anyone go to a search engine for anything related to boating safety but to instead just go straight to us.

Thanks for considering these ideas.

Guerrilla Marketing for the Coast Guard Auxiliary Using auxnorthwest.com – This is the new presentation – You will find a video of the PowerPoint, (several flotillas have presented the video at their meeting) many posters for the Pacific Northwest, Business Cards, auxnorthwest.com labels and several other resources for use at public events or posting around your area.
