I thank you for replying to my forum question about how to invite class reunion members to my private web site. I have another question. i’m not sure if I have checked the right boxes. Are you able to view my web site 1961mhs?

This is a very informative blog with important information that all mariners should read. Your connections with the Coast Guard, local community and SDOT are a valuable asset for increased professionalism, safety and open communications in the boating community. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, skills and experiences. And, thanks to all who participate in mariner training, safety, law enforcement and rescue.

Where do I find a replacement battery for my old Firefly Rescue Lite ACR/4F

    • captnmike says:

I don’t know if the Mercury based batteries are still being made – I switched mine over to I think CR-123 batteries some years back (sorry not close to the lifejacket with the light on it right now) – I got off the internet a special adapter that screwed into the ACR/4F and had a bit more space in it for the different batteries – sorry I can’t remember the web site I got them from – it was when ACR was phasing out the Mercury batteries and when you could get the Mercury batteries they were way expensive

My best suggesting is to try searching the internet for the adapter
      Good luck

lived aboard cutter KLAMATH ,wpg 66 1952_1954…RD2 .WE HAD A BASKET BALL TEAM
AND PLAYED WHEN IN PORT ,ADAK,GUAM etc.I was cleaning my garage last week and a beautiful basket ball jersey fell out of a box., yellow w / blue KLAMATH sewed across the front.

Since KLAMATH is no longer alive,I would like to donate the jersey to the c g museum.

if interested I will mail it to you.
    SEMPER PARATUS !

    • captnmike says:

I sent you the address and phone number of the museum, I am sure they would like the jersey, personal things like that tend to get lost in history as do things like pictures taken by crew members and other everyday items

Thanks for helping to save a bit of history

For the knot you learned from an instructor at the J World Sailing School in San Diego and is the knot you use the most. It looks to like a Double overhand knot. As with many knots there are multiple ways to tie the same knot.
