Flare Pot - US Coast Guard Museum - Seattle

Kerosene Flare Pot from the Umpqua River Station. The Flare Pots were carried in the Beach Cart (cart that was used to transport rescue supplies). The Flare Pots were lighted and mounted on a staff, providing a white light to show survivors where it was safe to land.
